Things have been busy recently, in a good kind of way. Shows, new songs, studio time and preparation for a brief return to Vancouver.
As I write this, my drummer friend Adam says I write very articulately, but I said it's more along the lines of articulately boring, so I'll try and keep this as short, simple and interesting as possible 😜
We're currently in the studio recording drums for a new four song EP, which will hopefully be out in the near future, but it's the anticipation and excitement that counts! We've already got one track mixed and mastered with a video, which will follow soon enough to promote and build hype for the EP. I won't give much away, but I spent a couple days literally running and jumping around London.
It's hard to believe that I've been in the UK for 8 months now. It's been a wild ride, and I'm finally starting to feel somewhat settled in the city that never sleeps. I'm heading back home to Vancouver though for six weeks time this weekend. It will be great to see old friends and family, do some busking and play some shows there.
Producer Joe Grouse and myself are working in Bowerman studios for the next couple of days and the one and only Neil Bowerman is currently sitting in front of me eating some chicken soup. I'm jealous because my friend recently challenged me to take on a whole week of vegan eating. I'm on day 5... Just about surviving. Don't ask me why I thought this week would be the right time to take on such a difficult feat for someone raised on meat his whole life, but I won't give up that easily!
Not only all this, but my good musical friend Laura Reznek also came to town recently. We've played a couple open mics and show together and I'm very excited to see what more collaborations are to follow.
